Final Day

30th World Gliding Championships are finished.
Last day was technical day and former World and European champions didn't give me a chance, they beat me by only very small margin of points . After 8 tasks I finished 11th out of 50 pilots in my class.
Only two years until the next World Championships in Szeged, Hungary, where I flew Hungarian Nationals representing Poland 30 years ago.
Thank-you to all our sponsors who supported our team and helped making it happen. Thank you to all who supported us before and during Championships and most important thank you to Joerg - the best team manager, our very best crew Maria and Virginia and Dave who was instrumental with fund rising.

Day 7,.First 18M group photo

13th of August I was towed by plane Nr 13 , but it was good day for me. I finished 8th for the day and moved to 8th overall. I have less then 50 points to 5th pilot but if I lose 50 points I will slip past 10th. We should have good weather tomorrow. We don't know about Friday but we can have only one extra day

Rest day

Today we had rest day
We had Polish/Czech evening Polish bigos and Sliwowica was served..

Worst day

I hope it was myonly one worst day in this contest. Conditions were fairly good ,but at the turn area my Ipaq froze. It took me good 5 minutes to reset all. But at the same time I lost my flight information and I had to continue flight just by calculations in head and lost close to 190 points to the first pilot I dropped to 10 place.

Air Show Day

We can't fly today due to poor weather . There is occasion to have time to watch air show and to have close look up at historical planes including Junkers 52 one of the first true passenger planes.
Cold front passed contest area and we have chance for good flying day tomorrow.

Day Five

We had shorter task of around 360km today. I started task in good time with other gliders. All was perfect till last turn point where due to my different decision then the group I suddenly find myself at 400 m above ground, it took me extra 5 minutes to recover and my task speed went down from 122km/h to 116 km/h. I finished 18th for the day, but moved up to 5 place overall. We have Air Show tomorrow and first exhibit gliders arrived. I found Foka 4 which I flew in my youth .
