Preparations for the Worlds started a long time ago.
In December 2006 the idea that Canada would participate in the Worlds was born. But we had a lot of questions to resolve: Which contest? Which class? Is it possible to rent a glider? Training? Cost??? After long discussions with pilots who have participated in the Worlds, I decided to fly in Luesse Germany in the 15M class. An ASG 29 was located and arranged for. The great Canadian champion Walter Weir did the team a great favor, giving Dave and me his ASW 27 for practise from the middle of August till October 2007.
